Hotels near
Compare hotels near Utilita Arena Birmingham by walking distance, parking and price band, with the practical detail that matters after a show.
If your night revolves around Utilita Arena, walking distance matters more than a generic city-centre label. The arena sits on King Edwards Road, on the canal side of Broad Street, which puts it at the western edge of the centre rather than next to New Street.
That geography decides most of the booking. A hotel five minutes away on Broad Street and a hotel five minutes from New Street are not interchangeable after a 22:30 finish, and the gap is bigger with an early train the next morning. The table below sorts every hotel in our Birmingham selection by straight-line distance from the arena, with parking and price band alongside, so you can see the trade-off before you look at rooms.
Editorial picks
Each pick names the situation it suits. A hotel that is right for one trip is usually wrong for another.

Distances are straight-line, calculated from each property's own coordinates. Walking times are derived from those distances with an allowance for street routing, so treat them as indicative for comparing hotels against each other rather than as measured route times.
Thumbnails show the nearest landmark or the area each property sits in, never the property itself. We hold no licensed photograph of these hotels and we do not generate one.

Where they are
Utilita ArenaHotels on this pageRailway stations
Roads, canals, parks and stations are drawn from OpenStreetMap. Hotels are plotted from their own coordinates.
The arena has its own North, South and West car parks, and Q-Park Brindleyplace sits a few minutes away on foot. That matters more than it looks: if you are driving to the show anyway, a hotel with its own parking on the Broad Street side lets you leave the car once, while a hotel near New Street usually means a separate city-centre garage at a separate price.
On foot, the practical route from most central hotels runs along Broad Street and down past Brindleyplace to the canal. It is flat, lit and busy on event nights. Coming from the New Street side you add roughly a mile in each direction, which is fine before a show and less appealing afterwards.
West Midlands Metro trams run the length of Broad Street, with stops at Library (Centenary Square), Brindleyplace, Five Ways and Edgbaston Village. If your hotel is on the Hagley Road side rather than in the centre, the tram is usually the sensible way back rather than a taxi in post-event traffic.
Two separate questions get confused here. One is whether your hotel has parking. The other is whether you will still be paying event rates at the arena car parks. If the hotel parks your car for the night and you walk to the show, you avoid the second charge entirely, which is usually the better deal even when the hotel room costs a little more.
The parking column in the table above reflects what we could establish for each property. Where a hotel uses a nearby public garage rather than its own car park, the walk from that garage counts as part of your arrival, especially with luggage.
The closest options in our selection sit on and immediately around Broad Street, on the arena side of the city centre. The table above lists them in distance order so you can see the gap between the nearest cluster and the New Street hotels, which are roughly a mile further out.
From the Broad Street cluster, yes. It is a flat, well-lit and busy route on event nights. From hotels near New Street the walk is closer to 20 minutes, which is a different proposition at 23:00 in the rain, so factor that in rather than assuming all city-centre hotels are equivalent.
If your hotel has its own parking within walking distance of the arena, using it once and walking to the show usually works out cheaper and simpler than paying event parking on top of a hotel car park. Check the hotel's current rate before booking, because parking charges change more often than room rates.
Broad Street is one of Birmingham's main nightlife corridors, and weekend late-night activity is part of the setting. If a quiet night matters more than the short walk, compare the hotels a street or two back from Broad Street, or look at the Jewellery Quarter and Edgbaston instead.
Most larger hotels in the central cluster staff reception around the clock, but smaller guest houses and some budget properties do not. Where we could confirm a check-in constraint it is noted on the individual hotel page. If you are arriving after a show, confirm the arrival cut-off with the property directly.
