Novotel Birmingham Centre
Birmingham city centre, around 15 minutes on foot from New Street. What follows is the practical detail: distances, parking, who it suits and where it does not.
Our verdict
Novotel Birmingham Centre sits on Broad St in Birmingham city centre, which puts it 0.62 miles from New Street. It pairs its own car park with a position 0.62 miles from New Street, which is an unusual combination in Birmingham.
Arriving by train, it is around 15 minutes on foot from the platforms. For an arena night it is around 10 minutes on foot. On parking, own car park. Guests report secure underground parking for residents.
On sleeping configuration: family rooms, with a children's play corner in the hotel.. That comes from guest reports rather than the operator, so confirm it when you book.
Within about fifteen minutes on foot: Broad Street (3 min), the ICC and Symphony Hall (5 min), Utilita Arena Birmingham (10 min) and Birmingham New Street Station (15 min). That combination is what you are really booking here.
It holds 8.1 out of 10 on Booking from 4,588 reviews, a normal sample for the city. That sits almost exactly on the average of 8.3 across the other 22 rated properties we compare in Birmingham city centre.
In the pricing snapshot behind this guide it listed at around £91 a night. That is about £12 below the £103 median across the other 23 priced properties we compare in Birmingham city centre. It is a snapshot rather than a live rate, and it will not match your dates.
Its closest neighbour in our selection is Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham Brindleyplace, 95 metres away. Against that one, this hotel rates 0.3 lower and has the family rooms it lacks.
It qualifies for our hotels with parking, family hotels and best city centre hotels comparisons, which is a reasonable shorthand for what it is good at.
It is not the right answer for everyone, because nothing about it stands out sharply enough to pick it over the other 38 properties we compare within a mile, so it comes down to rate on your dates.
