A wide view across Birmingham showing several distinct neighbourhoods

Which part of Birmingham fits your trip?

Eight Birmingham areas compared on character, transport, parking and typical price, so you can tell which part of the city suits your trip.

Birmingham is not one hotel district. The centre alone contains four distinct areas that behave differently after dark, and the ring around it ranges from a Victorian workshop quarter to golf resorts in open countryside.

Each area page covers what staying there is actually like, who it suits, what the trade-off is, and how you get into town. Where we do not yet hold enough properties in an area to compare them honestly, we say so on this page rather than publishing a thin list.

Areas we do not yet compare

Two of Birmingham's areas do not yet hold enough properties in our selection to compare honestly, so we have not published a thin list for them. They are covered by the neighbouring pages instead.

  • Selly Oak (B29): no hotels in the current selection
  • Moseley (B13): no hotels in the current selection

Both pages publish as soon as the selection covers them properly. For the university and hospital side of south Birmingham, see hotels near the University of Birmingham.
