Hotels near
Hotels near the Bullring and Grand Central compared on walking distance, parking and price band, for shopping trips and central city breaks.
The Bullring is the easiest venue in Birmingham to book around, because it sits in the middle of everything. New Street is directly underneath Grand Central next door, Moor Street is a two minute walk away, and the majority of the city's hotels are within a mile.
That makes distance a weak differentiator here, and something else the real decision: whether you want the eastern side of the centre near the markets and Digbeth, or the western side near Broad Street and the arena. The table below gives the distance order, but the parking and price columns are likely to decide it.

Distances are straight-line, calculated from each property's own coordinates. Walking times are derived from those distances with an allowance for street routing, so treat them as indicative for comparing hotels against each other rather than as measured route times.
Thumbnails show the nearest landmark or the area each property sits in, never the property itself. We hold no licensed photograph of these hotels and we do not generate one.

Where they are
The BullringHotels on this pageRailway stations
Roads, canals, parks and stations are drawn from OpenStreetMap. Hotels are plotted from their own coordinates.
The Bullring and Grand Central form one connected retail block wrapped around New Street station, with Selfridges and the Rotunda on the Moor Street side and the Bull Ring markets just beyond. Practically, this means almost any central hotel is a shopping hotel.
What differs is the onward direction. From the Bullring, Digbeth and the Custard Factory are a short walk south-east, the Hippodrome and the Chinese Quarter are south, and Broad Street is roughly 15 minutes west. Choose the side that matches your evening rather than shaving two minutes off the walk to the shops.
This is the densest part of the city for public car parks and the sparsest for hotel car parks. Very few properties this central have their own parking, and the ones that do usually charge close to public rates.
For a shopping weekend by car, a hotel a little further out with its own car park is often the calmer option, particularly on a Saturday when the multi-storeys around the Bullring fill early.
The table above lists our selection by distance. Almost everything in the first half of the list is a walk of ten minutes or less, so the practical choice comes down to which side of the centre suits the rest of your trip.
No hotel connects directly into the centre. Several sit immediately outside it, which in practice means a two or three minute walk under cover for part of the way through Grand Central.
The Bullring's own multi-storeys and the surrounding public car parks are the obvious answer, but they fill early at weekends. If you are staying overnight, a hotel with its own parking slightly outside the core usually costs less overall and saves the Saturday queue.
Yes. It puts you between both main stations, the retail core and the walking routes out to Digbeth, the Jewellery Quarter and Broad Street. It is the most flexible starting point if you have not decided what you are doing yet.
Roughly a mile and a half on foot, heading west through the centre and along Broad Street. Comfortable before a show, longer than most people want afterwards, which is why the arena page ranks hotels differently.
