Hotels near
Hotels near the NEC Birmingham compared on distance, parking and airport access, for exhibitions, conferences and Resorts World events.
The NEC is not in Birmingham city centre. It sits roughly eight miles east, next to Birmingham International station and Birmingham Airport, and that distance is the whole decision. Staying in the city centre and commuting out is a legitimate choice, but it is a choice, not a default.
For an early exhibition start or a two-day trade show, the hotels below are the ones within practical reach of the halls. Most of them are built around car and air arrivals rather than pedestrians, so parking and shuttle arrangements matter more here than walking minutes.
Editorial picks
Each pick names the situation it suits. A hotel that is right for one trip is usually wrong for another.

Distances are straight-line, calculated from each property's own coordinates. Walking times are derived from those distances with an allowance for street routing, so treat them as indicative for comparing hotels against each other rather than as measured route times.
Thumbnails show the nearest landmark or the area each property sits in, never the property itself. We hold no licensed photograph of these hotels and we do not generate one.

Where they are
The NECHotels on this pageRailway stations
Roads, canals, parks and stations are drawn from OpenStreetMap. Hotels are plotted from their own coordinates.
Three things sit on the same site. The NEC halls, Birmingham International railway station and Birmingham Airport are linked by a covered walkway between the station and the halls, and by the free Air-Rail Link people mover between the station concourse and the airport terminal. The people mover runs 585 metres and takes a couple of minutes.
That means a hotel near the airport is usually also a hotel near the NEC, and the reverse. It also means the train is a real option: Birmingham International is a short hop from New Street, so a city-centre hotel is workable for a single day at a show, though less so when you are carrying stand materials.
Resorts World sits on the same complex, next to the arena and the NEC halls, which is why several of the hotels below are used for both.
The NEC charges for visitor parking separately from anything your hotel does, and on large show days the approach roads back up. If you are driving, the practical question is whether your hotel lets you leave the car and reach the halls without moving it again.
Several of the hotels in this cluster are within walking distance of the halls or run their own shuttle. Where we could establish the parking arrangement it is shown in the table; where a hotel's shuttle timetable is the deciding factor, confirm it directly, because show-day schedules differ from the standard timetable.
A small group sits on or immediately beside the NEC and Resorts World complex, and those are the top rows of the table. Everything beyond about a mile is a drive, a shuttle or a train hop rather than a walk.
For a single day at a show with no equipment, the city centre is fine and gives you far more choice of restaurants and evening options. For an early start, a multi-day stand, or an arrival by car, the NEC cluster removes a commute at both ends of each day.
Yes. The airport terminal, Birmingham International station and the NEC halls are on one connected site, linked by the free Air-Rail Link people mover and a covered walkway. Airport hotels are a normal choice for NEC visitors and often cheaper on non-show nights.
Take a train to Birmingham International, then the covered walkway to the halls. It is a short journey on frequent services, which makes a city-centre hotel workable for a one-day visit.
Most of them do, because they are built for car arrivals, but on-site parking is not always free and not always included with the room. The parking column above shows what we could establish per property.
