Our verdict
Aloft by Marriott Birmingham Eastside sits on Woodcock St in the wider West Midlands, which puts it 0.81 miles from New Street. New Street is around 20 minutes on foot and the Bullring around 20 minutes on foot, so the centre is walkable without planning transport.
Arriving by train, it is around 20 minutes on foot from the platforms.
On sleeping configuration: guests describe the family room as very large.. That comes from guest reports rather than the operator, so confirm it when you book. On dogs: guests report bringing a dog and being made very welcome.. That comes from guest reports rather than the operator, so confirm it when you book.
Only one of the Birmingham destinations we measure is within fifteen minutes on foot from here: Birmingham Children's Hospital, about 10 minutes. Everything else means transport.
It holds 8.7 out of 10 on Booking from 3,271 reviews, a normal sample for the city. That is 0.8 above the 7.9 average across the other 11 rated properties we compare in the wider West Midlands.
In the pricing snapshot behind this guide it listed at around £85 a night. That is close to the £85 median across the other 13 priced properties we compare in the wider West Midlands. It is a snapshot rather than a live rate, and it will not match your dates.
Its closest neighbour in our selection is Conference Aston - Hotel and Conference Centre, 201 metres away. Against that one, this hotel rates 0.8 higher and has the family rooms it lacks.
It qualifies for our cheap hotels, family hotels and dog-friendly hotels comparisons, which is a reasonable shorthand for what it is good at.
It is not the right answer for everyone, because there is no hotel car park, so a driver needs one of the public garages around Woodcock St and the walk that comes with it.
