Conference Aston - Hotel and Conference Centre
Birmingham city centre, around 20 minutes on foot from New Street. What follows is the practical detail: distances, parking, who it suits and where it does not.
Our verdict
You will find Conference Aston - Hotel and Conference Centre on Aston St, Birmingham city centre, 0.75 miles from New Street. It has a pool, which only a handful of Birmingham hotels do.
Arriving by train, it is around 20 minutes on foot from the platforms. On parking, own car park, charged. Guests report the car park is charged and can fill up, so reserve a space in advance.
On the pool: guests describe a pool, sauna and steam room, with the gym included.. That comes from guest reports rather than the operator, so confirm it when you book.
Within about fifteen minutes on foot: Birmingham Children's Hospital (9 min) and the Bullring (15 min). That combination is what you are really booking here.
It holds 7.9 out of 10 on Booking from 2,338 reviews, a normal sample for the city. That is 0.4 below the 8.3 average across the other 22 rated properties we compare in Birmingham city centre.
In the pricing snapshot behind this guide it listed at around £70 a night. That is about £33 below the £103 median across the other 23 priced properties we compare in Birmingham city centre. It is a snapshot rather than a live rate, and it will not match your dates.
Its closest neighbour in our selection is Aloft by Marriott Birmingham Eastside, 201 metres away. Against that one, this hotel rates 0.8 lower and has a pool it does not.
It qualifies for our hotels with parking, cheap hotels and hotels with a pool comparisons, which is a reasonable shorthand for what it is good at.
It is not the right answer for everyone, because nothing about it stands out sharply enough to pick it over the other 26 properties we compare within a mile, so it comes down to rate on your dates.
